So I have decided to keep this blog post short and let the
pictures do the talking. Crossing into
Western Australia felt so good and we suddenly had a burst of energy of what
this wonderful massive state has for us to see.
The free camp we stayed at was basic but it had a toilet (or free museum
as the sign suggests!), shade and Telstra reception so what more could you
want. There was another family there so
Hamish was off playing with their sons and Kayla played with their toys in the
dirt. We were joined by another couple
and all enjoyed happy hour together.
Our second night was spent about 75km east of Norseman in
another free camp that was very much like the other one. Not as sociable but we didn’t mind. We enjoyed a water fight as it was a cool 39
degrees when we pulled over. We pulled
into nearly every roadhouse bar three.
This enabled us to either stretch our legs, check out their displays,
fuel up or grab a bite to eat. This
drive is a big one but it certainly feels like a massive accomplishment to say
we have done it.
Also the final statistics are in! We passed 137 cars, 138
trucks, 60 Caravan/motorhomes 2 buses, 1 motorbikes, 3 pushbikes heading the
other way. On the other hand we were
over taken by 14 cars, 4 trucks and 3 caravan/motorhomes. Finally we overtook 2 cars and saw 10 brand
new Coromal caravans on the back of trucks on their way to the
dealerships. Believe it or not we
actually had fun keeping track of all of these.
